Who did it better?

One of the reasons I chose a career in print journalism because I didn't want to interview people who were distraught after a tragedy. Maybe I should have reconsidered after seeing these awesome interviews. So who did it best?

God is everywhere...sometimes we just don't notice

I'm sitting in my new but unfurnished office after a rough night of sleeping with horrible nightmares. I'm a bit tired, and I bought the strongest coffee I could to get me through.

Through my open office door, I see the a group of special education kids with their teachers and suddenly I'm over my sleep deprived hangover.

I smile as they wave to me as they pass my office door. I'm reminded that He is here and He is love.

I am reminded that I am not patient enough to be a SPED teacher, and there is some shame in admitting that.

I am reminded how I admire those who work with our SPED kids and how they love their jobs and love their kids.

I am reminded that there was a time when these kids were put in an institution or were stuck at home with no means of education.

I am reminded that no matter how much I complain about Public Education, that I am also truly grateful for it. It educated and employed me, and allowed every child in this country an education.
There are still countries in this world where children are denied education (especially girls.)

Sometimes in our misery, no matter how small, we forget that He is there with us.

Why does Bill Clinton always look like he's looking at someone's boobs?

So I'm reading Yahoo! News and I'm looking at this great photo of the five living presidents together for the opening of the George W. Bush Presidential Library, and I cannot help but notice in the photo that Bill Clinton has this great, yet goofy smile on his face. See below:

Let's get a closer look here:

Then I thought of other photos of Clinton with a similar grin and thought to myself, "Does Clinton always look like he's looking at someone's boobs?" This journalist wants to investigate the situation to see if my observations are valid.

This is an obvious choice. He appears to say, "Nice rack!" here!

He's going for the grab without taking his eyes off.

Speaking of going for the grab...and notice how Obama is looking at him. OMG this is too funny!

Girls should recognize this look because it's what guys do when they aren't listening but only pretending to while (you guessed it!) staring at your boobs. Clinton didn't create this look, but he sure perfected it!

This is what happens when a dude gets caught looking at other boobs.

He can't even keep his eyes to himself when he's dancing with his invisible girlfriend.

Bill is really excited to see Pamela Anderson's orbs. Barack cautiously reminds him that Hilary is watching him.
See?

He even has takes his cat Socks out to go hunting for boobage.

"Hey! Nice implants!"

(Laughing out of control here).. There are NO WORDS!

This is Bill Clinton and he did not approve this message...good thing there's a thing called the First Amendment! I'm sure he would find this hilary-ous!

Happy Valentard's Day: My mens

My students make fun of me because I talk about all of my 'boyfriends,' aka my celebrity crushes. For Valentard's (deliberately misspelled) Day, I decided to blog about these men whom I will probably never meet, let alone ever have a chance with. Still, the dream of having a man just look good and do as he's told is intriguing...here we go!

Singer Boyfriends:

Simon LeBon - Lead singer of Duran Duran

Simon LeBon was probably my first major celeb crush which is why he's mentioned first. I actually have met him a two years ago after a concert and he's still so sexy.
At the age of 15, I went to see them and fainted when he looked at me (he really did, I was on the main floor, third row.) My Aunt Rosie will never, ever, ever let me forget it either!

Adam Levine - Lead singer of Maroon 5 and judge on The Voice

So I'm not normally into the tatted dudes, but he is definitely the exception. Did you know that Maroon 5's first CD was supposed to be called "Songs About Stacey" but I didn't want to make the world jealous, so we opted for the name "Jane" after one of my favorite authors "Jane Austen." Wasn't that nice of me?

Michael Buble

It's well known that Mikey is often in this state of daydreaming about me. That must really piss off his wife, but I digress. He's so awesome because he not only sings beautifredly, but he's also from Canadialand AND therefore he loves HOCKEY (albeit a Canucks fan, but he's forgiven.)

Nerdy Boyfriends:

Self-made Dot-com millionnaire genius, Shark Tank personality, owner of AXS TV and most importantly, owner of the World Champion Dallas Mavericks Mark Cuban

Sigh! My mother told me that I've always been partial to the nerdy ones. Fortunately for Mr. Cuban, he's not only nerdy, but he's also tall, dark, handsome, and rich, a true quintuple threat! (Is that a word? If not, it is now!)  What's not to love about this man?

Johnny Galecki - Actor, The Big Bang Theory

He may not be a nerd in real life, but he plays a good one on TV.

Actor Boyfriends

Russell Crowe

The eyes, the accent, the brute, the talent, and well yeah he's hot!

Hugh Jackman

He is the only Wolverine I'm a fan of.

From Canadialand...Rockin' Ryan Reynolds

I borrowed him from Jen, but he's hers. I'm only allowed to look.

Robert Downey, Jr.

My Iron Man...every girl loves one bad boy right?

Hugh Grant

Amazing actor and gets better as he ages.

Colin Firth

Another awesome actor...I'm seeing a British pattern going on here.

James McAvoy

Holy crap hot and sexy!

Ewan McGregor

I would turn to the Dark Side for him. I just also realized that maybe my fascination with Ewan is because he's a younger version of my first crush Simon LeBon (see first boyfriend in blog).

Gay Boyfriends

We're all so disappointed when we find out one of our mens prefer the mens we like. Still, they're still men and still hot.

Neil Patrick Harris

Jen would agree with me on this. How could she not?

Ricky Martin

I don't even like Latin men, but he's definitely the exception!

Alan Cumming

Great character actor and freaking hilarious.

Old  Boyfriends

Clint Eastwood

He can still make my day.

Robert Redford

Sexy Geriatric Ginger

Dead Boyfriends

Gene Kelly

The original triple threat, handsome, a patriot (at a time when celebrities SHOULD have been looked up to by volunteering for war like he did. You wouldn't see ANY of our celebritards do that now.)

Paul Newman

The most beautiful blue eyes ever...with the biggest, generous heart.

She's going to kill me

This is my best friend in the entire universe Jennifer Stewart. We were at CiCi's Pizza with her Children of the Corn and the kids won this charm from one of those quarter machines. She decided that it looked more like a nose ring, so she put it on and then mistakenly allowed me to take this picture. I love blackmail!

This is the type of person who is my best friend. The one person who totally and completely gets me. We speak our own language that totally confuses my husband.

To be fair, this isn't a fair photo of Jen because she's absolutely beautiful. We had a rough day of moving her into her home and decided we weren't cooking.

This is what she really looks like:

Does she look familiar to you? Perhaps you've seen her face before?

Jen is constantly mistaken for Anne Hathaway. I think she needs to be an Anne Hathaway impersonator, she'd make a zillion dollars.

We've been besties for nearly 15 years, most of that while I've lived here in Texas. Doesn't seem that long that we've been friends. She's the best friend I've ever had, the sister God blessed me with and there's not a day that goes by that we don't talk. I don't know what I'd do without her.

My Kitty is Cuter Than Your Kitty

This is a photo of my furkid Pepper. He's 6 years old and is a long-haired Maine Coon Cat. These cats have very distinctive features. First, they have wisps of fur on the top of their ears that point up like little horns. They also are very large cats, both tall and long. The biggest distinction of the Maine Coon is their bushy tails which resembles that of a raccoon, thus the name of the breed.

He is a shelter kitty, and we adopted him when he was a year old and 14 lbs.

Pepper, sometimes I call him Pepperoni and Cheese, is also a diabetic kitty. He at one time weighed more than 16 lbs. but last summer he started losing weight quickly and was thirsty all of the time, which are indicators of diabetes. We took him to the vet and he tested positive for diabetes.

He's now 11 lbs. and looks weird to me, but it's because I was used to him being a fatty. I give him insulin shots twice a day, in the morning and then the evening. He has a special type of cat food too. Other than that, he's a normal kitty and is such a sweetheart.

Love's Caffeine Hangover

Today my students will take a photo of, and then blog about something that they love. So I took it upon myself to do the same.

I love many things in the world: God, family, my friends, my cats, hockey, Detroit, etc. however, there's only one thing that gets me going every day and that my friends is coffee!

I didn't always love coffee. My grandparents drank a lot of it and I remember making it for my grandpa and his friends. I even remember trying it as a kid and thought "YUCK!" As a young adult, I got my caffeine fix from an ice-cold Coca-Cola.

But then I became a college student and had those 8 a.m. classes at Wayne State, in the Winter, and in the snow! I had to do something to one, wake me up and two, warm me up.

Coffee, I love you. Don't ever leave me. I don't know if I could handle it.
